Red Gerard Wins USA’s First Gold at the Olympics

Red Gerard, a teenager from Colorado, won a gold medal in men’s slopestyle snowboarding. This was the first gold medal for Team USA in the Winter Olympics. Red Gerard also set another record: he is the youngest American man, at age 17, to win a gold since 1928. Gerard told reporters,

“”I cannot believe what has just happened – it is insane.”
